Global Education Emergency

We are facing a Global Education Emergency. - UNICEF Executive Director

The pandemic has had a major impact on many and has resulted in millions of students unable to excel as they should, due to the lack of Internet access.

When the schools closed due to COVID 19 at least a third of the world’s schools – 463 million children – were unable to access remote learning, according to a new UNICEF report released.

No one knows how long or how often the schools will have to conduct remote learning and there are fears these students’ lack of connectivity will continue to be a major ongoing issue.

This issue needs to be addressed quickly and systemically. A failure to do so means those students, many of whom have already fallen behind academically will only further trail their better-connected classmates.

So what can we do to assist these students, not only during the pandemic but also in a more long term and sustainable way?

Here are at theunconnected.org, we are fully focused on this mission, connecting students and people like you to fund connectivity projects to help improve education and young peoples access to connectivity.

We have programs running to support youth in the UK, Latin America and the United State with handsets and connections. You can read more about our projects HERE

So join us, be an active partner, donor or supporter and share the journey for a more connected world.
