unconnected.org Joins National Dialogue on Capacity Building and Community Connectivity

A national workshop on community-centered connectivity initiatives (CCCI) was jointly hosted by the Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA) and the Foundation for Media Alternatives (FMA), with the Association for Progressive Communications (APC) and Rhizomatica

It was attended by unconnected.org as a resource speaker for the session on capacity building among CCCIs.

The workshop gathered key stakeholders in the community-centered connectivity space in the Philippines. It served as a platform to learn from different models of CCCIs in the country and provide space for dialogue and possible collaborations towards a community of practice, in addition to generatiom of inputs and insights on policies, initiatives and programs that promote the development and growth of CCCIs.

Further to this, the workshop participants surfaced barriers and gaps in relation to policy, capacity development, gender integration and relevant digital technologies towards program development among CCCIs.

The work of unconnected.org with ISPs in the Philippines ties closely with the objectives of CCCIs in the facilition of establishment of sustainable community networks.
