Community engagement with ICT and DRRM stakeholders
unconnected.org joined the Info Share Project 2025: Better Connectivity, Stronger Community hosted by Access Network by RA Omega in view of the celebration of the National ICT Month.
Bannering “improving lives one connection at a time,” the engagement touched on cybersecurity, education and disaster response with resource speakers from government, academe, industry and other non-profit organizations.
Representatives from the Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the lead of the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC) were invited to participate in the event.
Access Network powered by RA Omega shared about the partnership with unconnected.org, focusing on the free connectivity for students at remote schools delivered through satellite, and reasonably sustained by proceeds from affordable internet offered to surrounding communities.
unconnected.org highlighted connectEMERGENCIES, granted by Internet Society Foundation, that covers school-based connectivity in times of disasters as well as free certification for responders.
