Showcasing Resilience: unconnected.org Highlights Emergency Connectivity at APAD PH International Symposium

The Asia Pacific Alliance on Disaster Management - Philippines (APAD PH) hosted the 2025 International Symposium, with the theme Resilience in Practice. 

Anchored on unconnected.org connectEMERGENCIES, the participation was valuable in raising awareness on the value of connectivity in the lens of disaster response. 

As such, an exhibition featuring emergency communications platforms such as satellite technology was presented before the international audience including local stakeholders. 

Other information and communications technology tools such as digital radio, aerial imaging drones and online collaboration platforms were also showcased, highlighting the need for connectivity in times of disasters.

unconnected.org and APAD PH have inked a partnership earlier this year, aimed at equipping the latter’s networked organizations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, with satellite connectivity, free for use for emergency purposes, supported by Internet Society Foundation. 

This will enable the subsequent utilization of various online applications used in disaster response, as well as to set-up free connectivity for both responders and the community.
