Ernest’s take on bridging the Digital Divide in Rural Malawi

Unconnected Bridges the Digital Divide in Rural Malawi

In rural Malawi, where internet access is scarce and expensive, Unconnected is making a significant impact. By providing satellite-based internet connectivity to underserved communities, we're empowering locals with new opportunities in education, agriculture, and community engagement.

Empowering Education

At Nyungwe Girls School, students are now exploring advanced IT activities like app development and cybersecurity. This exposure to the digital world is equipping them with valuable skills for the future.

Revolutionising Agriculture

At the Sunrise Community Hub, farmers are using the internet to access real-time market data, weather patterns, and modern farming techniques. This knowledge is boosting productivity and empowering farmers to make informed decisions.

A Gateway to Opportunity

Unconnected's work is more than just providing internet access. It's opening doors to a world of opportunities. From education and agriculture to communication and community development, the internet is transforming lives in rural Malawi.

The Road Ahead

While we've made significant progress, there's still much to be done. To ensure these communities can fully benefit from the internet, we'll continue to provide support, training, and localization efforts.

Unconnected's mission is to bridge the digital divide and create a more connected world. With dedicated volunteers like Ernest Sebastian, we're making a difference in rural Malawi and beyond.
