How to Perform a Hard Reset on Your Starlink Router

A hard reset can resolve connectivity issues, forgotten WiFi passwords, or setup problems by restoring your router to its default settings. This process clears current WiFi configurations, allowing you to start fresh.

Recommended: Reset via the Starlink App

For a seamless reset experience, use the Starlink App:

  1. Connect your device to your Starlink WiFi network.

  2. Open the Starlink App.

  3. Tap “Settings” > “Router” > “Factory Reset.”

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.

Important Considerations Before Resetting

  • Manual Reset Trigger: If your Starlink router is offline or unlinked from your account, you will need to use the manual reset method.

  • Bypass Mode Limitation: The Starlink App factory reset will not work if your router is in Bypass Mode.

  • WiFi Network Name: After resetting, your network will revert to “STARLINK” as the default WiFi name.
