unconnected.org supports APNIC EmpowerTech

The APNIC Foundation hosted EmpowerTech Philippines 2025 dedicated to advancing digital inclusion and community capability-building.

The event was also supported by Internet Society, along with other key players in the data transmission industry in the country.

unconnected.org served as a resource organization for a panel on community-centered connectivity initiatives moderated by the Department of Science and Technology - Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI).

Co-panelists came from the Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia, Project Resilient Education Information Infrastructure in the New Normal (REINN), and RISE.

The multistakeholder event featured “...conversations on infrastructure and policy, community-led connectivity, inclusive tech solutions, emerging technologies, and staying relevant in an evolving digital landscape.”

unconnected.org echoed the view of APNIC Foundation that “...[r]eliable Internet enables Filipinos, especially those in remote and underserved areas, to access essential public services, participate in civic life, and unlock new economic opportunities.”

Grantees of APNIC Foundation were invited to explore unconnected.org Impact Marketplace, wherein connectivity solutions are offered to help support the mission of promoting digital equity.
