unconnected.org joined various connectivity stakeholders during ASTICON 2025 hosted by the Department of Science and Technology - Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST - ASTI).

During the same occasion, DOST - ASTI launched its new programs, including CONNECT, shorthand for Collaborative Open Network Infrastructure for Emerging Technologies, Computing, and Connectivity.

It can be recalled that DOST - ASTI also established several Community Networks under the Resilient Education Information Infrastructure for the New Normal (REIINN) project. According to its proponents, REIINN focuses on “...developing application frameworks and infrastructures to support the shift to remote learning and to narrow the digital divide in the country.”

unconnected.org engagement with DOST - ASTI is anchored on the use of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Satellite for the enablement of its community networks, while ensuring that the commercial model of offering affordable connectivity is compliant with local laws and regulations.

Highlighted also were various technology projects of DOST - ASTI within the intersection of smart mobility, AI-powered weather monitoring, and electronics product development, among many others.
