Migrating your existing Starlink dish to unconnected.org ensures continued service with the benefits of our support and management. The process is straightforward but requires coordination with our team. Follow the steps below to transfer your dish seamlessly.

Step 1: Release the Dish from the Previous Account

Before the migration can be completed, the dish must be unlinked from the previous account. This step requires action from the current owner:

  1. Log into the Starlink customer portal at Starlink.com.

  2. Navigate to "Your Starlinks" and click Manage next to the kit to be transferred.

  3. Click Cancel Service on the left. Take note of the Starlink identifier, as it will no longer be visible after removal.

  4. Under Devices, locate the dish, click Transfer, and confirm the conditions.

If the previous owner no longer has access to the Starlink account: Provide the original registered email in your migration request so we can assist in recovering the account or resetting ownership.

Step 2: Gather Required Information

Before initiating the migration, ensure you have the following details:

  • Kit Number – Found on the Starlink box or the bottom of the dish.

  • Previously Registered Email Address – The email linked to the Starlink account.

  • Exact GPS Coordinates – Latitude and longitude of the installation location.

Why These Details Matter:

  • The kit number is required to identify and verify your dish.

  • The previous account email ensures a proper transfer of ownership.

  • The installation coordinates allow Starlink to function accurately at the new location.

Step 3: Activate your KIT with a unconnected.org plan

Once you have the kit number and coordinates, follow the below steps to activate your purchased Starlink subscription with unconnected.org

Step 1. Click HERE to Activate your Dish button

Step 2. Sign in or create a new account.

Step 3. Ensure your Starlink kit and router are powered on and placed in the location where you intend to use them long term.

Step 4. Make sure you select your Region in the drop down list.

Step 5. Complete the form and check the box to confirm you have the authority to proceed.

Step 6. Click proceed with Start Setup Process

If the dish kit number you entered is unlocked and correctly linked to your account, the connection process will begin. Please allow up to 20 minutes for the dish to activate.

(Optional) Enabling Bypass Mode for Third-Party Routers

If you plan to use a different router instead of the default Starlink router, you need to request Bypass Mode activation.

📌 Steps to Enable Bypass Mode:
1️⃣ Email support@unconnected.org requesting Bypass Mode activation (after your dish is activated).
2️⃣ Power on the Starlink router and keep it connected.
3️⃣ Wait for support to enable Bypass Mode. (This can only be done while the Starlink router is turned on.)
4️⃣ Once confirmed, you can disconnect the Starlink router and use your preferred networking setup.

Key Reminders:

  • Ensure that the dish is released from the previous account before requesting migration.

  • Bypass Mode can only be enabled when the Starlink router is powered on.
