Protecting Welfare of Women Online

unconnected.org, represented by Jessieca Baris, Technology Manager, was present as one of the resource organizations in the Validation Forum on Reviewing the Benefits and Gaps of Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV), held at Quezon City, Philippines.

In commemoration of the National Women’s Month, the engagement was hosted by the Foundation for Media Alternatives aimed at soliciting insights as to how to better implement TFGBV laws and policies.

As an organization providing opportunities for young women and students, unconnected.org upholds safeguards to ensure meaningful and safe access to the Internet. Our member-partners also commit to ensuring that the free connectivity at schools and learning centers is not enabled for sites whose contents are illegal, pornographic or similar in nature.

Strategic partnerships of our ISP member-partners with the DICT has also enabled the delivery of programs on Digital Literacy and Online Safety, among others.
